Two forgotten film rolls. One legendary night.
In 2002, I photographed The Strokes live in Reykjavík on 35mm film — then the rolls disappeared into a box and were never developed. More than twenty years later, I found them again and decided to document the entire journey: from the moment of discovery to the first trip to the lab, the long wait, and finally seeing the images for the very first time.
“The Strokes – Reykjavík 2002: Lost & Found” is an analog time capsule — a series of unseen concert photographs and behind-the-scenes moments, revealed frame by frame. This project invites you to step back into an early-2000s night in Reykjavík, when a New York band was rewriting rock music and a young photographer was quietly capturing it on film, never knowing the images would sleep in the dark for two decades.
